Wedding Reception Table Décor

Tables, centerpieces, place settings, flowers, favors…and the list goes on!  Planning a wedding reception can be overwhelming and not to mention very expensive.  There are simple ways to make your wedding reception table decorations unique and memorable- and it is all about the chairs!

First, you must establish your wedding theme and if you plan to continue that particular theme through to the reception.   If your wedding is going to be traditional, you may choose to have elegant reception tables with light colors, candles and delicate flowers perfectly displayed along your dinner tables.  If your wedding is more contemporary, you may want your reception to be all about the party with vibrant colors, fluorescent or even colored lighting, unique floral arrangements and other table décor to emulate a fun atmosphere.   

Now, for the final touch- adorn your dinner table chairs!  Decorating the table chairs at your wedding reception can be a simple way to contribute to your reception décor and incorporate your theme.  An elegant approach would be to cover your chairs with a customized, fabric chair cover and tie a piece of sheer ribbon around the back of the chair making a lovely bow.  You could even have the chair covers personalized with your guests’ names or a monogram of the bride and grooms name.  Another idea is to wrap a thick piece of silk or satin around the back of the chair and rather than tying a bow, pin the back together with a diamond broach. A fun way to decorate the table chairs is to drape ivory around the back of the chair and tie each end to the chair with ribbon.  You could also tie flowers to the back of the chairs to go along with your table arrangements, or hang wedding flower balls from the sides of the chairs.  Learn how to make hanging flower balls here.
